I've used it but I don't recall any useful effect for anhedonia.
Trivastal was better.

Hi Sigismund,
Did trivestal help you to enjoy things again? Why did you stop using it if it helped?
Also, is the agomelatine helping you to enjoy things like music etc.
Since 2005 I seem to have stopped feeling pleasure.

Hi Denise
I don't have problems enjoying things as such, although I have claimed to suffer from anhedonia, especially of the anticipatory sort, but maybe my GP was right and I'm just lazy.
I get very upset, it is fair to say, and have no interest in APs.
Trivastal just made my days a little better. I combined it with Hydergine, and had a few viable days as a result.
Agomelatine makes me feel better about being me. I feel a lot better on it. The basic effect is quite nice, though getting the dosage right might be the key to avoiding anxiety from it. After more than a month I am still taking only 2/3 of the normal starting dose.

Hi Scott,
Yes have been doing a google search on it and another poster mentioned possible heart problems.
I have had a big problem with anhedonia since 2005 really but since Novemember things have been much worse with suicidal thoughts etc.
I was hoping to find something that would at least enable me to experience some joy.

If you still feel that you would like to try a dopamine receptor agonist, Mirapex (pramipexole) or Requip (ropinerole) might be worth a try. Some people have reported good results with Trivastal (piribedil).
I know one person who is responding well to the psychostimulant, Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine). Unlike Dexedrine (d-amphetamine), it produces a much smoother and longer lasting positive effect.
Denise, what are you taking right now?
It kind of sounds like you suffer from dysthymia. Do you experience anxiety or extreme anger?
