how good is prolixin for severe paranoid schizophrenia. my boyfriend hears voices and sees things and has been on everything, but nothing has worked. are they any other potential new drugs being tested for paranoid schizophrenia. but has anyone had any experience with prolixin?

hi, welcome. i'm not aware of any research as to hwat the best antipsychotic is for specific subtypes of schizophrenia...it sounds like he's tried a few and had no luck...clozapine is considered the strongest, and olanzapine might be the second best, for positive symptoms, though they both have more side effects too. the only unique feature i know of paranoid type is high markers of inflammation.
hopefully someone with some more personal experience will have something to say.

have you tryed Seroquel? it worked for 3 months, all paranoia, voices, depression gone
I have unknown paranoid psychosis
