I take it as a sleep augmentation for my Parnate 25mg, and ritalin, and valium.
25mg Seroquel worked just somewhat so I had to add another 25mg. I did get maybe 8-9 hours sleep total and it did take me a little while to fall asleep after the first dose. Too much less longer after the 2nd dose.
but after few hours of being up I begin to become sleepy and even my eyes occassionally have trouble staying open. is this typical?? is this going to last??
I only need to fall asleep at night... and not feel like I want to Keep Sleeping...
How long for this side effect of daytime sedation to go away for diminish if I stick to 50mg seroquel?

Hey,
Take the full dose of seroquel at once and not incredibly late at night, adjust your sleeping time if you can (ie midnight and wake 8 or 9am).
Will take about a week or two (this is individual). This is a powerful "tranquilizer" like med so its gonna have this type of effect on many people. Just hang in there and see how it goes.

Hi Adam,
I agree. Take the full dose and take it as early as you can to fall asleep when you want. Allow an extra hour of sleep or so for first couple weeks. If that doesn't work you'll have to reduce to 25mg and add something else like melatonin.
Good Luck!

Hi, really tired right now came home recently late at night. Heading to bed soon. Thanks for all the responses in this thread and the other.
Seroquel hasn't been working too well. I had a lot of trouble falling asleep at even a slightly higher dose since my cut of the 100mg tablet wasn't perfect. so it would be 45mg one night and 55mg the next and it just doesn't seem to be cutting it plus i feel like my sex drive drove off a cliff and i dont feel as social anymore. i just feel a bit disconnected. it's strange. maybe it's all connected to a central ''cloudy feeling'' in my head.
ugh maybe this will all go away or perhaps i should give risperidal/risperidone another try because initially before 25mg parnate increase (from 20mg) it was working ''well'' enough but still had it's issues yet i would be able to feel better during the days instead of how i feel on the seroquel.
risperidal isn't meant to be that sedating though maybe it was mainly due to lower parnate. ill find out soon enough.

Sorry guys but I'm afraid I'm getting you two mixed up, especially on the same thread with seemingly the same situation.
Or I'm officially brain dead from fatigue, haha
Self inflicted though. You feel good after so long its hard to go to bed on time ;-)
Will someone please tell me who's who so I can offer advice? Who's taking what, how long, what dose, is it working, what augmentaions, what have you tried for sleep. If you'll each answer those questions, its likely I have answers to all, or most, as I have been there!!! Why make my mistakes if you don't have to!
