weight loss

Not sure this is quite the right place for this, but I'll post it here anyway, as I think it's more med-related than eating-board-related.

Anyway, I tend to lose weight from depression. I am 5'2" and for about 8 years tended to even out at 115 pounds or thereabouts. I always ate what I wanted and exercised vigorously a few times a week.

When I got seriously depressed about a year ago, I unwittingly lost about 9 pounds, then maybe 8 more once I'd gone on Wellbutrin. Gradually, I gained about 9 of that back (mostly from being on Remeron), though adding Zoloft to the Wellbutrin seemed to prevent further weight loss.

Remeron didn't work for me and made me more depressed. I am now on 50 mg Zoloft and 20 mg Lexapro, with 1 mg Xanax at night.

In the last few weeks, I broke up with my boyfriend and then a few days later, my therapist went on maternity leave. I just checked my weight a few days ago and I've lost the 9 lb I gained back.

I do eat regularly, but it's hard to force a lot of it down for some reason. I've also been smoking a lot, which might be contributing.

I don't know whether to worry about this or not (am I depressed--is this a sign of coming worries?) I don't feel too bad, considering (as a matter of fact I think it's a sign that the medication's working wonders that I'm functional, working, and not suicidal at the moment). I also don't know really whether I am at a healthy weight or not. I have been wearing size 0 pants (US) and they are now getting pretty baggy. But I have a small frame, too.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions to prevent further weight loss? I got some Ensure from the store, but upon checking, I saw it only had 240 calories. So I don't know how much that'll do.

raisinb why two SSRI"s at the same time? I was told that stress can cause weight loss as losing weight myself. On benzos and low dose luvox. Love Phillipa. I think my problem is the unstable thyroid I have. Trying to eat more but still losing. Still at about 124 fully dressed 5'4.5". Which is about target but naked no idea. Phillipa

That was a compromise between me and my pdoc. After the disastrous Remeron trial, I wanted to go back to something I knew worked (Zoloft + Wellbutrin). She wanted to switch me to Lexapro, as it was supposed to have less harsh side effects. We agreed to go for both.
