What whey protein products do you use?

Posted by Cseagraves on January 27, 2009, at 22:22:44

Hi again!

Was wondering for those of you who drink whey protein, which brands do you use. I noticed that the brand that I use now has soy protein in with it, so I was trying to find a different alternative.

Thanks for any info!!

Courtney

Hi,

Sorry that I can't recommend a brand name, however, I would like to add that I noticed that taking whey protein was detrimental to my mood. Was wondering if you've ever perceived any similar effects yourself.

I use "Designer Whey protein" I find it the best tasting, easiest to mix , and I spoke with the company rep and they said they "cold processed it" so it is the same as those that advertise as "undenatured whey protein" ( for raising glutathione levels.) The small cans are pretty expensive for the amt. you get but the large tubs cost me about $45-50 and last me a month and a half or so.

Hi Courtney!

We have "GNC" brand whey protien shake mix. If you don't have a GNC near you you could probably get it on line. The chocolate mixed with non-fat milk (or water) is awesome!

It stirs up really well, not watery. My nephew and brother get most of their stuff there and are happy with the products. Maybe they have a catalog?

~Jade...btw, why didn't you tell me you have 2 years of med school? Are you majoring in Psych? Well fix me woman!! LOL

Jade,

Yeah, we have GNC here. I like Isopure because it taste really good and mixes real easy. Have started paying more attention to ingredients as alot of the Whey Proteins have soy protein in with them. (Not sure about Isopure, but will check it) Just trying to be careful if I should decide to go on the Marplan.

Since I don't get out much, the thought of driving to GNC, which is literally 5 minutes from me feels agonizing so I think I will call them first.

Usually I order my vitamins and supplements from www.iherb.com. They have high quality supplements and are alot cheaper than I buy them in store. It will also show the ingredients of every product. (And it's a plus that they deliver) LOL!!!

I have two years of nursing school under my belt, but had to stop when all of this anxiety/agoraphobia crap started. On one hand I desperately want to finish my last two years, but on the other hand, I am beginning to become very disenchanted with the medical field right now. I wanted to be a nurse because I am a very compassionate person and love to make people feel better. I am beginning to see that there are several people in the medical field (especially doctors) who apparently lack the compassion and concern when it comes to their patients.

I promise I will fix you as soon as I can figure out how to fix me!!! Or at the least, all of us here can help each other to figure it out.

Love ya!

Courtney

I second that. I haven't done any comparisons lately, but the last time I did, Optimum was the most cost effective without skimping on quality. The best price I've found is at advantagesupplements.com.
