I've been taking 12.5 Seroquel for insomnia for about 1 week. It works great in the sleep dept, but in the sex dept it's a real zero. Does this side effect wear off over time? I also find myself very angry and hostile. I'm not usually like this. I'm looking for anyone else's experience with Seroquel
Thanks

Are you sure it's a side-effect of the seroquel?

Yes, the only other med I'm taking currently is Neurontin and I've been on the same dose for a long time.

I've been on Seroquel for over a year now with dosages ranging from 25mg to 300mg. I'm bipolar and also take Lamictal. I had just finished two years without a manic episode before having a horrible episode last week which landed me in the hospital for 3 days. Prior to that I was taking 50 to 100mg at night depending on how badly I felt I needed to be "knocked out"....
Anyway after my nightmare last week I'm back up to 200mg of Seroquel at night. Honestly for me it's never effected my libido at all. SSRIs, Trazadone, and a number of other meds have killed my interest in sex or ability to orgasm. Perhaps I'm just lucky Seroquel doesn't have that effect for me but it definitely doesn't......I've also been fortunate not to have crazy weight gain with it as some people seem to report.
I may be an anomaly but this is my experience. For me it's the best "sleep" med I've been on....
Best wishes,
-Jay
