I have not writen to this board for a long time. Some may remember that I once was very fond of Reboxetine (Edronax), but after some time I had to ditch it. The positive effects wore off and the sideeffects became too troublesome.
After some attempts to find a useful med, I have now been on the following combo for 3 weeks:
Prozac 3 x 20 mg /week
Abilify 3 x 5 mg /weekI know this is a very low dose, but it has helped a lot with mood, energy and motivation. I have tried both meds on their own without much success.
Problem is that allthough the meds have improved my libido dramatically, they have also given me severe anorgasmia. Now, this is cruel.
My questions are:
1) Is there anything I can add in order to solve the problem? I have already tried Buspar, which only made the problem much worse.
2) What can I expect if I raise the dose of either of the drugs. I hesitate a little in doing so because of the hich cost of Abilify.

People commonly add bupropion, it can help with motivation type issues as well. I don't know if you've tried it. It is possible more abilify would block 5ht2a receptors as this commonly helps anorgasmia, but other meds which can do this are low-dose risperidone (.25-1mg)or cyproheptadine. Some effective herbal options are yohimbe and icariin. I think bupropion might mean you need to take the prozac slightly less often to get the same amount; make sure to ask your pdoc about that if you get it.

Does anyone on this board have any practical experience with Risperidone at this dosage or for this use?
