After two weeks of lamictal at 25 mg I just upped the dose of lamictal to 50 mg. I'm taking it for bipolar II and depression. At what dose did you find that you felt the depression lifting? So far I feel nothing.

Bulldog I also took lamictal got to 50mg felt nothing maybe some anger. Aborted due only to intolerable excess salivation constant spitting. Isn't 100mg a good dose? Heard lower doses work also. But remember it's only two weeks. What are you combining it with? Love Phillipa

For me, it worked briefly at 25mg and then quickly pooped out after that all the way to 200mg. It was nothing but side effects and numbness for me.

maybe 150? I take 300 now (split 150 am/150pm)
it lifted the depression a bit, but mostly it just helps keep the even-keeled-ness of the zoloft going. Sometimes on Zoloft I feel up and down and up and down all day long. That's when I've forgotten to get my lamictal Rx filled. oops.

i felt good the first days witouth signs of psychosis, then after 5 days the nightmare begun and was taken to the emergency room

I noticed a sharp change at 100 mg/day. I became very anxious and went on quite a high dose of clonazepam to cope.
Later my pdoc titrated me up to 400 mg/day to get a good A/D response (my mood swings were pretty mild at that time, mostly late at night). He said he had one patient who required (and did well on) 600 mg / day, contrary to the manufacturer's literature. I did quite well on 350-400 mg/day for a year or two and am considering going back to it, after a consultation with another pdoc.
