I've been on Nardil, Dextrostat, and Klonopin for about 6 weeks now, and it is literally the miracle cure for my OCD/ADHD/Social Phobia.
I've gotten back into working out, and I take whey protein powder with absolutely no problems whatsoever. However, back in the day when I used to be a bodybuilder, I was taking Nitric Oxide with Creatine supplements. I have been using such a product called Dymatize Xpand for about 2 weeks with no problems either, regardless of the fact that it has L-Tyrosine listed as one of the ingredients.
I bought another such product called NO-Xplode by BSN, and used it once or twice. I "think" I might be feeling minor hypertensive crisis signs on it, but am not sure. My mouth is dry,
I cant concentrate, heart is beating kind of fast, and I feel apathetic. But, keep in mind that today was my day off of work, and I do not take my Dextrostat on my days off, so it very well be just stimulant withdrawal. It is so hard to tell with these damn meds.
If anyone has any input, feel free to comment. Thank you so much.

nO-xPlode has like a million ingredients in it, so i'd avoid it just for that. And i don't think Nitric Oxide - type supplements are helpful anyway. Creatine is fine, although if you are bipolar be carful there is some evidence it can precipitate switching. It is good for mental energy though. If you want high-level discussion of supps, mindandmuscle forums are a good place to look. for more cell volumizers TMG and taurine and inositol might be something.
How has nardil affected your weight?

I've only been on it for about 6 weeks, but I've gained 5 lbs. Thats also partly due to working out and taking creatine which makes you retained water weight.

Dextrostat is an Adderall type drug, it def is contraindicated with Nardil, and could by itself easily cause a hypertensive crisis.

Again, L-Tyrosine, contraindicated.

I am familiar with NO-Xplode, as several guys in my family have or do use it. My nephew had to stop becaused he was in an extremely aggravated/anxious state after an intense workout.

I say this with complete concern for your safety; I feel you are headed for a hypertensive crisis.
I strongly suggest you discontinue all use of the Dextrostat/Adderal, the "NoXplode", and the L-Tyrosine product. You add a workout to these and you may have a problem soon. You may anyway. Please buy a BP cuff, so you know if your in trouble, you can get help, if you don't already have it, get a script called Nifedipine(antidote) or whatever your Doc likes, this will buy you some time if you are already in a crisis, the first sign for me, was a headache pounding in the back of my neck, spreading all over. Scale 1-10, it becomes a 10.
Did your PDoc go over this med and the restrics with you carefully? Are you following the diet, other than the Tyrosine you are already taking?
I would seriously go over with your Doc all that your taking with Nardil before you continue.
Hypertensive crisis is no fun and can be very dangerous. If you ever are treated, make SURE to tell them you are on an MAOI, before they give you anything. IMHO
Good Luck!

uh...you can take maois with stimulants. it can cause increases in blood pressure, but it isn't an impossible combination.
Tyrosine isn't tyramine. tyrosine is fine to consume on an MAOI, its in milk and beans and steak. if you let it sit around in the right conditions, it can lose i think an acetyl group and methyl group and you have tyramine, but sitting in a protein tub isn't going to ferment.
Sorry, i just find it annoying whenever someone mentions and MAOI and then people are all "you can't take stimulants or eat protein"

Yeh,
Tons of people take MAOIS and stimulants together with high success.

Tell me about it, this person thinks they're a chemist whereas they just grace us with WebMD citations.
