Was doing some online reading and looks like vyvanase is now approved as a safe drug for adults as well as kids. Monitoring of pulse and sleep also showed it safe. Also average time for adult with ADHD to fall asleep was found to a half hour. Sorry registration required but a great site. Phillipa

My pdoc tried to talk me into this drug. I opted for Adderall instead. I think it was because the vyvanase is XR, which I don't like. Doc said Vyv is smoother than Ritalin or adderall. There was talk that its just a remake of adderall as patant may be up soon. I'll need to confirm this and post again later. Btw, took Adderall for 2 days. Felt like I was wired on 2 pots of coffee.
Cheers! Jade

Vyvanse is a pro-drug for dexamphetamine (Dexedrine). It lasts much longer because it is slowly released into the blood from the gut. Adderall is different in that it contains both dexamphetamine and levoamphetamine.
