Hey all,
I've tried a lot of different SSRI's and SNRI's and had anorgasmia with all of them. I'm currently testing out Wellbutrin but so far it's not promising. I tried Levitra once and it worked, but I am hesitant about taking it regularly because it hasn't really been studied in girls my age. Do you think it is safe for me to take? Is it a bad idea? Should I try Requip instead? I really need to be on the Cymbalta for my OCD, so switching meds isn't really an option.
My current cocktail is: 200mg Lamictal, 50mg Seroquel, 30mg Cymbalta (which I will probably need to raise), and 300mg Wellbutrin XL (which I'll stop taking if it doesn't fix the sex problem).
I'd appreciate any feedback.
Thanks!
-Kim

Have you tried fluvoxamine? There are some reports that it causes less sexual dysfunction than other SSRIs.
Neuropsychiatr Dis Treat. 2005 Dec;1(4):289-99.
Fluvoxamine in the treatment of anxiety disorders.
Irons J.
Dove Medical Press, Auckland New Zealand.Fluvoxamine is a selective-serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that has proved effective in large double-blind, randomized, controlled trials involving patients with social anxiety disorder (SAD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and panic disorder. Improvements have also been demonstrated in patients with post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as those with a range of obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders including binge eating disorder, bulimia nervosa, pathological gambling, and body dysmorphic disorder. Several well controlled studies have confirmed the efficacy of fluvoxamine in children and adolescents with OCD, SAD, and other anxiety disorders, and it was the first SSRI to be registered for the treatment of OCD in children. Fluvoxamine is well tolerated. In common with other SSRIs, the most frequently reported adverse event is nausea. Fluvoxamine does not cause sedation or cognitive impairment and is associated with a low risk of sexual dysfunction, suicidality, and withdrawal reactions. It is safe in overdose and has no significant effect on body weight or cardiovascular parameters.

I really like the SNRIs so I'm gonna try to stick with the Cymbalta. If I do try another SSRI in the future it will be Luvox.

I've been on low dose luvox for years 50mg and absolutely no side effects minus sexual. But that is age and med related. There was a time when I was on 250mg of luvox and it was good and then it stopped working. Darn and it did work. Since then can only tolerate low doses it seems but can't get off it either. So strange . Anyone know why? Phillipa. Tried cymbalta 60mg for three months and felt nothing but when I got off had backpain. So I think it's great for pain. Good luck Phillipa
