I'm BPII/ADHD, and just upped my Depakote dosage to 2000mgs.
I'm kinda sick of the general feelings of the stimulants.
I've taken wellbutrin and provigil by themselves before and had some benefit, but not a lot (provigil did help w/ depression and sociability, but not concentration/focus/drive). I wonder if this combo would work well.
Provigil solo helped me more than wellbutrin solo ever did, although i never tried 450mgs of wellbutrin.
Your thoughts?

Doesn't sound like a good idea if wellbutrin did that to you. Phillipa

I take both Wellbutrin XR and Provigil, and it's a good combination for me. (I also take Vyvanse, in case that's relevant.)
For me, Provigil augments the antidepressant action of Wellbutrin -- and I'll admit, Wellbutrin is not a particularly robust AD for me. It's just the most tolerable AD for me, and it is generally effective enough to keep a floor under my feet. The Provigil boosts that to a pretty strong response, although I don't think I can say I've hit remission.
And the Vyvanse counters some of the flightiness that I get on the WB/P cocktail.
Also, whether or not that's a reasonable combination for you, based on your prior experience with Wellbutrin, depends in large part on what you mean by nearly becoming psychotic.
Hope that helps.

Depakote + Wellbutrin (+ Provigil) has the potential to be a successful combo. This combo avoids the problem of antipsychotics canceling out the effect of stimulants. Add 1 at a time, starting with low dosages, increasing slowly, monitoring for signs of psychosis or a mixed episode.
