Parnate + Lamictal was one of the best cocktails for me! I can't really say what might be happening in your case, but I wonder how long you've been on each med? Did you start Lamictal or Parnate first and which have you been taking the longest?
Lamictal tends to have a mild antidepressant effect and it is sometimes used to augment antidepressants, so it would be unusual for it to start causing depression. It could be just one of the natural fluctuations in your illness, in which case it should pass if you keep taking the meds. It can be a mistake to want to quit the meds when you start feeling unwell after taking them for a while. My mental health team keep suggesting I go off my meds 'and see what you're like without any medication at all' every time I have a depressive episode. It's taken quite a bit of willpower to resist this advice, but years of experience with this illness have taught me the best thing is to keep on going whenever I'm going through a bad patch. It's all part of life.
Sometimes Parnate makes people feel worse, especially in the beginning. How much are you taking of each? Also, is the Lamictal prescribed for a bipolar disorder? Bipolars often fear that mood stabilizers will lower or flatten their mood. I haven't found this with Lamictal, but with lithium I felt slowed down and flat, as if it had put a cap on the level of excitement I could reach.

as I think about it.... it MAY be EXTERNAL forces, pushing me a bit " down " ..... OR perhaps I am in a LOW point of a cycle....
EXTERNAL forces at the moment are STRESS & ANXIETY in a few areas of my life....> >

been on Lamictal for bout 2 years... (300mg) now.... took Nardil for a year or so.... made me worse.... EMSAM worked for a month or two, then bottomed out....Now been on PARNATE for 6 months or so.... and IT WORKS....
(thanks G*D).....I think my LAMICATAL plasma levels were fluctuating (from missed doses, off-timing etc).... Gonna go back to the "regimen" my doc laid out and see how it goes...
BTW: MANY THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT......
