I was only taking a multivitamin and loratadine 10mg. My doctor put me on 100mcg levothroxine and 10mg lexapro. I had took the levothroxine for 7 days and lexapro for 8. I forgot the loratadine on day 8 and that evening was broke out in hives. My doctor took me off of everything and put me on prednisone and benadryl. She didn't think it was the levothroxine that caused the reaction. Said to some back in 4 weeks for another thyroid panel and we would start the levothroxine back at a slower pace. I am just now getting better after 6 days from the hives. I am concerned about what could have made me do this and what other people have experienced. I have took lexapro 20mg. about 4 years ago and didn't have this kind of reaction.

I did a quick search and was quite surprised to see that both generic and synthroid can cause allergic reactions. Also do you know what your thyroid numbers are TSH, free t4? Phillipa
