Hi everyone,
I'm on EMSAM, it's going okay, but I'm experiencing a lot of redness and itching from the patch sites. Basically, red blotches in the shape of the patch.
Has anyone found anything that works on this? I was using some cortaid but apparently that's for short term only as it thins your skin.
I'm only able to wear the patch on alternating arms, unfortunately. The back, chest and hip areas don't work. Thanks for any thoughts!
Best,
Roslyn

I have no specific recommendations unless it would be to look into some herbal remedies like aloe vera, etc and see if these aren't ruled out for some reason.
The few times I had real irritation it seemed to be more from pulling off a patch that was particularly tightly adhered to my skin. If that's a component, I wonder if a little moist heat, like a warm washcloth, might make pulling it off a little less irritating?

Rosylln I think this is a common problem. See if you find the initial Emsam link as it was talked about I remember as wanted to go on it myself. I think some did use cortisone cream???? And rotated sites frequently and some saw dermatologists. Now I trying to remember so may not be accurate. Phillipa ps I did so want to try it and still have a box of samples pdoc said it would be too stimulating but I don't know about that.

I know you said some of them did not work, but keep trying other places.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions!
The moist heat is a good idea before removing the patch each morning.
Best,
Roslynn
