ITA with Jay. Take it only when you are truly ready for bed and down for the night.

FYI, my hunger is definitively increased. In fact I ate about TWICE the amount of food that I used to take before Trazodone. That's not a good thing and now that I'm aware of that I'll take extra caution to control myself. Thanks for the answers !

so glad you asked that Marty.
its like a non-stop trail to the fridge, i knew zyprexa was bad but i've NEVER been this bad on it before. 15 lbs in three weeks.
i stopped taking the traz (it was just for sleep) and went back to xanax just to see and sure nough, i still have some urge but not NEAR what it was.
i NEVER even thought it was the traz...i thought traz was weight neutral...thanks again for posting.

15 lbs in three weeks.
---
That's what will happen if I don't control myself (I will...) as in 1 week I took more than 5 lbs! ... I also add 50mg of Lamictal about the same time I started Trazodone.. but even with a small increase in water retention it cannot account for all those lbs. I eat a loooot more and that need to return to "baseline" or I'll get fat again in about 1 month (I just lose ~20 lbs in the last couple months :S)/\/\arty

Additionally -- and since yo8've been on it now for a while so it is irrelevant, Trazodone has a metabolite called mCPP that can make people a bit loopy/psychosis if they're susceptible to it, at least while waking up. (There are other things like the somewhat rarity of priapism... ugh... I shouldn't go listing the package insert... what you're experiencing is probably all that what you will get)

Actually I'm using it for the antidepressant 5-HT2a+c antagonism effect which I prefer over SRIs.> Additionally -- and since yo8've been on it now for a while so it is irrelevant, Trazodone has a metabolite called mCPP that can make people a bit loopy/psychosis if they're susceptible to it,

Yeah I know about mCPP and while I didn't read about making some people psychotic I can see how it could do that (5-HT2a+b agonism).. basically like LSD.
priapism...
---
Ouch indeed! .. I'm scared of that since I take Wellbutrin (good for sex, better erection and libido) and from time to time some Cialis (like Viagra for with an effect which may last 36 hours) ... that said with all 3 my sex life is way better! ... many years of SSRIs (Paxil especially) leaved me partially impotent, my orgasm sucks bigtime and my genitals are anesthesied partially... anyway.. I pray that this Priapism thing never happen! :PThanks again for the info!

Definitely try anything to not to gain in the first place. It's so hard to get the weight off! I know, believe me.

Yes, I will say it happened in a light way for me when I was much younger, but I am susceptible sometimes to odd side effects. Um.... lets say I creatively put it away by standing on my head. No, literally :)But no it isn't a laughing matter -- its rather rare but it is always listed there. Sorry for riling you up if I did, I shouldn't make people have medical student syndrome.
-- best wishes
