Just a question... I have been using a old batch of oxazepam 30mg that are about a year old now. Do benzo's lose their potency if they are this old?
Either this is the case, of my body is building up a tolerance... although I only take it like 1 - 2 times a week if that. If I switched over to a new benzo, would that mean my tolerance is "reset" with the new one? How does this work?

One more question, if you criss-cross between different benzo's, are you least likely to build up a tolerance to them? eg:
monday - oxazepam
tuesday - diazepam
wednesday - nitrazepam
thursday - temazepamThen back to the start again? Would this prevent dependancy issues? Is it safe to do? I'm not tending on doing it, but i've always wondered in case I need to do it for a while due to a severe episode of insomnia.

You're a mind reader as I too have a tolerance now to valium and was given a script for xanax and wondered if it work better. A med that is a year old should work as I've taken them older than that. Did you ask you pdoc about tolerance as they worked fine for me for over 35 years last two is the tolerance issue. Thanks for asking this question. Phillipa

No

I think they start to lose their potency when they... expire, but i'm not completely sure.

Might become a bit weaker but I've taken over three year old meds at times. I think the military uses expired meds not sure. Anyone know? Phillipa
