60 mg Remeron

Posted by X-ray on July 16, 2008, at 4:43:55

Hello friends,

I have been on Elavil for many years.
Never liked the stuff.

- Elavil is a rat poison, one doctor said.
- It's a dirty drug, another doc commented.

Now I'm trying out Remeron for the second time.
I'm sleeping OK, but I would like a deeper sleep.

Perhaps I could add something to my dosage of Remeron.
I welcome all suggestions on this question.

I take 45 mg of Remeron in the evening.
Now I'm thinking of raising the dosage to 60 mg.

Is there anyone who has been on 60 mg of Remeron?
I would like to hear from you.

Best regards,
X-ray

If you don't want to take a benzo you could try Neurontin...that should make you sleep really well. I notice one poster has also indicated that Omega 3 fish oil goes well with Remeron. Best of luck.

I take 45mg remeron at night with 2mg clonazapam and my daughter tells me I snore like a whale. But i wouldn't know i'm so out of it.

Maybe your doc would let you try a benzo with your remeron?

Each time you raise the dose on Remeron, especially above 45, it becomes less sedating. Remeron knocked me out like a light at 15mg but 60mg had absolutely no effect on me whatsoever, sedative-wise or depression-wise. I took it for years and the only thing I've noticed now that I don't take it anymore is that my sex drive may be down just slightly. I did find Remeron to be quite pro-sexual, especially after a decade of SSRI/SNRI use.

I take 75-150mg trazodone for sleep now and it works surprisingly well. I don't think it has any antidepressant effect, though. I also think that temazepam is fantastic for sleep but I've found that doctors here in the Atlanta area don't like to prescribe it because of its affinity for diversion to the black market. It's very hot right now for some reason and the docs have really clamped down on it like they did Xanax when it became really popular as a street drug. I'm not sure why temazepam's so popular because I don't think it's in any way euphoric, it just makes me sleep for precisely 8 hours and wake up feeling very refreshed.

Hi BGB,

Thank's for your reply!

I've been on 45 mg of Remeron for six nights now.
I take 0,5 mg of Fluanxol in the morning.

I'm doing OK on this combo.
No reason to raise the dosage of Remeron.

Best regards,
X-ray
