Hi
Have been very, very interested in this new med. Seems like it's the only med available for sleep disorders that can be prescribed long term, unlike Benzo's.
Apparently the time to fall asleep is very short, around 15-20 minutes. I currently take 1mg Clonazepam and 50mg Seroquel. The Seroquel though is making me wake up a lot and have mad carbs cravings! Have put on so much weight, and not liking it.
It's not yet approved in the UK, but I have found a company called IDIS that sources foreign meds as long as you have a valid script from your doc, which I have. It's expensive, but I hope it's worth it, at least till it's approved over here in the UK.
Has anyone had any experience with Rozerem? I'd like to hear any story's please...
Thanks
Gary.

OH! Rozerem stories!
Seriously, it's my favorite sleep med. I can't say it worked great the first time I took it, but over time it seemed to augment my AD and improve the quality of my sleep, so that made up for it. It wasn't great for the "wake up at 4 AM and want something to help get me back to sleep" sort of thing, but taken regularly it was my good and trusted friend.
Then again, a lot of people say it's been useless for them. It's worth doing a search of the archives here, since I know people here have taken it.
Good luck.

Hi Gary, Rozerem certainly has advantages over other prescription sedatives / hypnotics. Rozerem is not a controlled-substance and it has no potential for abuse. It can be safely taken long-term without causing dependence, memory loss or hangover.
I gave this medication a good trial run some time ago, unfortunately, without success. Lunesta, Ambien and Restoril work very well for my sleep problem. Currently, I take Ambien 10mg.
Hopefully, others can post positive success stories for you.

Could you tell me more about this please? I'm looking for a way for my pdoc to prescribe tianeptine. Do you think this company would be able to source it for me? How much does it cost?

I have insomnia pretty bad. It take 2.5 or 3 times recommended dosages to put me out. But anyway, rozerem didn't even dint it at like 8x the recommended dosage.
IIRC, both ambien and lunesta can be used long term, although very long term studies have not been done.

Do some research on the net regarding your condition and why you believe that Stablon would benefit your illness.
Print out as many trials, studies etc on the med and take them to your pdoc. they will only be able to provide you with a private prescription, no NHS, but you can take this to your pharmacy and ask them to contact IDIS and ask them to source the product from overseas.
i got stablon though IDIS about 4 years ago now. it's expensive (think i paid around £70 a month) but if it works then is well worth it...
good luck :O)
