Has anyone experienced this out of order weirdness?
I will be speaking/responding and at the same time processing what I should say.
How does the brain do that? There must be something going on unconsciously.

I used to do it all the time it's kindda like you want to be ready to say something when the person is through. I found if I listen and don't think ahead it doesn't happen unless there is some dispute involve then I want to be ready to respond think it may be anxiety related. The brain is remarkable. Phillipa

Thanks for your response Phillipa, but actually that's not what I experience. Normally you 1) think about what to say and 2) say it. I'm saying 1 & 2 are happening simultaneously, & actually sometimes 2 may happen seconds before I think about what to say (1). Weird.

I belong to a 12-step group and will participate occasionally and am asked to read something to the group sometimes. When I'm talking I'm thinking of something else and am afraid I'll start saying what I'm thinking (not a good idea). In one group you have to stand at a podium and speak into a microphone when you are asked to give a lead. While I'm talking all I can think of is how weird my voice sounds over the sound system. I'm glad I'm not the only one.
