I forgot to tell my dentist I take propranolol prn. I have a root canal tomorrow? Is this going to be a problem? I plan on taking one because I'm afraid of freaking out.

I'm afraid of a drug interaction tomorrow. Does anyone know whether it would be a problem?
Should I skip the propranolol tomorrow?
I have 1mg of my Mom's Ativan and 0.5mg of instant dissolving Ativan. Should I take that instead?
Or maybe I shouldn't take anything. Maybe I'm just getting worried for nothing.

Tell him you forgot its just a beta blocker, they're like the most prescribed drugs in the US (beta blockers). Im sure 75% of his patients over 35 take them.

I think you'll be fine Deneb. If you wake up tomorrow and feel you can manage without it, don't take it. If you feel you need it, take it and tell him when you get there. It is not uncommon for dentists to prescribe anti-anxiety meds for patients before procedures. Just make sure you tell him if you do take it.

Agree with sunnydays and it is quite safe as a lot of older people must take them for heart problems. Both that or ativan are fine. Why not call the dentist and ask? Love Phillipa
