Is there any other drug out there that you tried and think it somehow feels like Tianeptine ?I about to give it a trial in a couple days and wonder if I don't put too much hope on that med.
Theorically, it's a very interesting drug. But pratically there's not a lot of people reporting to be responding very well to it.
Btw, to anyone interested: Tianeptine has *recently* been found to hit, somehow, Adenosine receptors. Caffeine is an antagonist of adenosine.
Can't tell you how Stablon (TIA) affects this receptor since it's not specified in the medline abstract. My guess is that it act just like caffeine, as an antagonist.1.Any tips, advises related to Stablon (Tianeptine) ?
2.Any drugs feels like it ? If not which feels the MOST like it ?

You didn't sound negative at all Phillipa.
The fact is that many meds or cocktails has helped very much my symptoms (anxiety, depression, social phobia etc) but I'm sensitive to side effects and in the long run can't keep living with them.
Best example are sexual side effects, cognitive side effects (focus, attention span, memory, executive functions, judgement etc), lack of energy/motivation and emotional blunting.
And so my quest for something working in the long run continue...

Well, it's an up rather than a down drug, but it has a wider spread than most things that take you up.The 'wider spread' thing is where the AD effect is.
The other part of the effect is the more easily described dopaminergic type effect.
I've never taken SSRIs, but someone here, comparing their effects to tianeptine said something to the effect that tianeptine was more soft and content....maybe the phrase was 'calm alertness' as against the colder calm feeling from SSRIs.

Hi,
I haven't taken it but am considering doing so to enhance / increase the effects of modafinil.
I've been reading a bit about it. Here's some points from my notes that I've consistently found:
Cost is about USD$40 for 30 x 12.5mg.
Normal dosage is 3 x 12.5mg per day.
Stimulant effect is short lived, hence 3 times a day dosing recommended.
Claimed to have strong antidepressant and anxiolytic properties with a relative lack of sedative, anticholinergic and cardiovascular adverse effects.
Commonly described as a "selective serotonin reuptake enhancer", but I really have no idea what that means in practical terms.
Can take weeks before "full effects" are felt. Please let us know your experiences.
Thanks :)
Mr. M.

There's no very good reason.
I don't want to feel like some people describe SSRIs making them feel?
Skepticism about what passes for therapeutic effect in psychiatry?
Not having the wellness or energy for numerous drug trials?(But I did have the energy to try 5mg memantine yesterday. Even that was a bit much, though I did sleep and it had a clarifying effect which was nice. I'm easily freaked out!)

I've seen tianeptine marketed as a psychic tonic, and when it worked well on me that's what it felt like.
After eighteen months this changed, so I tapered down (then off) without difficulty.
