how does klonopin make you feel?

I'm taking a .5mg dose (1/2 of a pill) and wanted to know what others experience.

Klonopin works very well for me. It calms me down and helps me to mellow out.

When I'm really anxious I feel all physically tied up in knots and "tight" you know?

When The klonopin kicks in, I can literally feel my body relax.

Seldom

Benzos used to really work well for me at low doses klonopin wasn't my drug but they used to relax me no more as tolerant now. So I have to tough it out and don't do a good job at all. Phillipa

At such a low dose it made me calmer at first.

Now to get the same effect, I need about 3 mgs (!) a day. Side effect: anxiety stunted, depression high.

SO take care!

I take 2.5-3 mg about twice a week at bedtime (or, sometimes, at 3 or 4 or 5 o'clock am, LOL). My current theory is that I'm using it to modify hypomanic cycles.

It makes me feel great. It is the only 100% helpful drug for my disorder that I have ever taken and the beneficial effects appear to last a full day.

I have on a few occasions taken 1mg before a dinner party or something like that. This successfully, and very mildly, alleviated my considerable social anxiety without making me drowsy.

I am very careful about how often I use it, because I'm a recovering alcoholic and don't want to take any chance of habituation/addiction/whatever you would call it. I don't allow myself to take it more often than once every three days. I have had no problem with cravings.

I never found it made me feel anything. I would just stop feeling anxious. It's not that I felt particularly relaxed.

I never took more than 1 mg at a time, I don't think.

For the most part I only take .5 mg each night now. It seems to stop my 3 am wakings. But I don't feel anything in particular other than not waking up.

I didnt do well on klonopin. It increased my depression a bit but the bigger problem was that it significantly lowered my inhibitions to the point that I was having a very difficult time restraining myself from self-injuring. I also had some passive suicidal thoughts while taking it. Both self-injury and suicidal ideation have been problems for me in the past, but neither had been a problem in many many months until I started klonopin. It went away when I stopped taking it. I had a similar reaction to valium, but I seem to do okay with xanax.

It's been great for me. I had a big anxiety/depression relapse last year and the only thing that worked was clonazepam, 6mg daily.

I'm now doing really well and have managed to taper back to 3mg with no problems at all and I'm still tapering down slowly. It just alleviates my anxiety and allows me to get on with my life.

I use clonazepam as augmentation to Nardil for my social anxiety. It works very well for this. I take 1 or 2mg and have cut my Nardil down to 60mg from 90mg. This has greatly reduced the Nardil side effects for me. Most people's problems with benzos start when they begin to withdrawal. This is usually because some nut doctor has them cutting the dosage in half all at once, then in half again. My solution to this problem is if a med works, don't quit. If you are a true addict and just keep raising the dosage to chase the dragon, you have a problem. But if the medication works, why withdrawal?
