nardil or selegiline and b6? the whole story?

http://www.imminst.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=15732

this board is saying high B6 may fight against the effects of selegiline.

did not read much further, am off to doctor's in minutes... (and still haven't decided on drug... :( )

now someone noted nardil depletes B6 in the body...

just what goes on between these chemicals?!

why would one kill or disable the other in any way?

i though B6 was cholinergic and gaba-ergic, but honestly i have no idea, WHAT DOES IT DO?

B6 is very possibly an effective treatment (studies say so) for TD, and maybe problems with it are a factor in TD onset, low B6 is associated with higher probability of parkinson's onset. all of this is particularly important to me as i suffer from movement disorder symptoms incl. akathisia, (pseudo?)parkisonism, and episodic f***-ed up dyskinesia.

holy s***, vegan + nardil = doom?

okay, soya products. sketchy recommendations.

some say none at all, some a little soy sauce is okay. i eat both a lot of tofu and a lot of miso. tofu would be extremely hard to get out of my diet. extremely.

NOW! so i noticed that fava beans were listed but falafel was NOT? fava beans are a major ingredient in falafel. i find nothing said.

...i eat sauerkraut and marmite (and vegemite). i guess i could ditch those.

am i to believe that having a different diet from a lot people, i may eat some things that may have tyramine in it, but was never thought of when the list(s) were made.

i know the lists are now seen as too sensitive, but in terms of MY diet, i may be eating things that other people only rarely, if ever, do.

tofu is just such a big thing, here.

I don't know about doom --- but MAOIs are not something my doctor would recommend for me, as I am basically a complete vegan and have been for years.

There's too much with yeast added for flavour, unknown amino acids and things in mock food, soy this and that -- I wouldn't risk it for me at all, it could be a hospital case.

As for your case, if you are, that's something that you have to discuss with your doctor if you have tried all other antidepressants including stimulants and tricyclics and other random older things and combinations.

Just an opinion
