Just know it's supposed to be done slowly. Rash is rare from what I've read. Irritability? Love Phillipa

In my experience, Lamictal does well for depression, but does little for my racing thoughts/mixed moods. So my PDOC wants to add Depakote which has taken care of my racing thoughs and mixed moods in the past.

i have been irritable and reclusive since starting lamictal
i've been at 100 mg for a week and now i am ready to go to 200mg to see if it's time to give up

I reazied that it was a dumb idea for me to go up very quickly. I just wanted to hit that 200 mark, but in the mean time it made me manic, irritable, and anxious.
Looking back at my mood chart, i was doing much better at 50 and 100.

I've been on Lamictal for over a year now. I was on 50mg then 100mg then 150mg then I stopped it (stupidly) so I started back at 50mg and over 4 weeks went up to 200mg - been on 200mg now since January, and to be honest I don't really feel any different than what I felt at 50mg.... I've now been put on Seroquel 400mg which has made a difference. I can now tell the difference when I take them. Some days if I forget to take them I'm really bouncy and have loads of energy. So they must be working!
I don't think that by changing from Lamictal (if it isn't working so well) will do any good as I react to most meds.....I'm actually in the process of going back to see my Psychiatrist as the Seroquel has made me put on loads of weight...
I had a slight rash when I went on Lamictal but nothing serious.....the only time the rash is serious is when it covers your whole body, top to bottom.
