Well it's happened the Dragon reared it's head and the old history of lymes is back as saw a therapist who doesn't want to see me as have chronic lymes and she knows nothing about the meds and also the thyroid says too complicated. Want me to try and see the one who knows meds and disease entities. And what meds would help these condistions. So sick of one saying docs that is that lymes is gone and now she's says lots of people in my area saw the lymes doc who can practice but no longer use insurance. She feels my illness is physical. I went through this last summer with the pdoc who just gave benzos. Sick of docs and I know you're sick of me. But still any suggestions? I just want to be normal. Love Phillipa

Western blot will test positive forever for lyme's once you had it..it only detects antibodies in the system which will always be there. There's a specialized test to tell if your lyme's is active. You need that one. usually with chronic lyme's there's pain in all the joints plus often fever. pain throughout the body.
You can go to one doc to treat lyme's or thyroid and let them do what they can do. You can still find a p-doc to give you meds for ad and anxiety.
I think you have a neurotic component to your depression that is complicating your treatment. Also going to all those docs is only confusing you more..

Fully agree with you. And I'd put the lymes to rest. Neurotic is an old word like me!!!!!! I'd say panic fits the state was in better. Love Phillipa

So sorry Phillipa for the difficulties. Wish I could help, but I feel helpless. I've said it before, but again, you just need a good doctor or nurse practioner. You've had really lousy ones. Whatever criteria you use to choose caregivers, don't use those anymore. Up your standards and your expectations a few notches.
Finding the right one aint easy. In a phone screening, ask if they give thyroid meds to people with decent lab results but they still have obvious thyroid symptoms. That's a good screening question to rule out the duds you don't need more of. In any case, you gotta do some hunting. Seriously, start in the Yellow Pages and make a lot of cold calls to doctor's offices. The field of Nurse Practioners has some real gems that blow doctors away. I can't say that objectively or universally, but that is just my personal experience.

Blueberry thanks oh we've up the ransom so to speak now looking at the pdocs the rich here go to as it seems they do not accept insurance. Have been told that this area is and never has been good for medicaire. The ones that take are not top notch a fact as the two huge practices that do won't let you switch docs if not a good fit. One lady lived and born here met suggesed two who may be full pdocs that is hoping. Other than that the NP's here are all working in hospitals or doing work for the docs running tests and follow-up visits old endo had one. So looking. But getting very tired of seeing doctors sometimes I think those that stay away are better off. Just my opinion. Phillipa and thanks for caring.

I tried a therapist from my insurance plan and he was so awful I stopped. Than I had an interview with another from my plan and she said I was to complicated so she would not take me as a patient. Than I went to a third from my plan and he dropped me after the third visit because he was not comfortable with my issues. There is so much deadwood out here that call themselves p-docs and you'll find them on insurance plans for the most part.
I finally had to go back to my old therapist and pay out of pocket.

Doing the same as found out today at endos that TSH has gone from eight weeks ago from 1.08 to over l5. So now the thyroid is back in the picture with an upped dose and he said that anxiety is a real disease that needs to be treated. The new therapist called to schedule I dissed her as sick of docs. So now have to find a Gp too according to endo. And he said that there is a shortage of pdocs and regular docs the influx of people moving here is so great. He even said with his referral over three months for a pdoc appointment so guess no choice but old therapist and pdoc for now. How riduculous!!!! Love Phlllipa
