I didn't find it sedating either. In fact it even helped out my hypersomnia. Was very chatty on it. But I had to stop taking it because it gave me bad nausia & stole my appetite & wouldn't give it back ): Niether did it help my depression much, though I didn't really expect it to.
Is it also helping your anxiety yet even though you feel stimulated? One known side effect is excitement. Is this how you feel?

I wouldn't say it is "excitement".. Just more energy. My doc gave it to me for depression..didn't make sense to me. I get anxiety attacks sometimes but it is not the issue that depression is..I have never even told my doc about anxiety so he must have thought it might do something to being me out of depression. I jsut hope it doesn't poop out quickly
It has been causing insomnia though.. No stomach problems so far.

Foound the thread..thx for the info. i didn'tknow it has antidepressant effects. I hope it continues to give me energy and doesn't poop out after the 6 weeks or so.. I feel better than I did though and maybe in 6 weeks it will be even better..Can only hope.
oh, so taht is why he gave it to me.. Didn't make sense to give me an anti-anxiety drug when anxiety is not a really big issue for me

While being trated for depresson, I had a few real uncomfortable anxiety attacks, and didn't like being in a Xanax haze, so my doc prescribed Buspar.
I have taken it off and on with Prozac and Zoloft, and it seems to give me an extra kick in the butt, so to speak. I am now only taking Buspar, although depression ceased with Zoloft some months ago, and anxiety is a thing of the past after getting fired some years ago, and retiring early because of it. Good luck to you. Hope we won't need this board someday in the future, but hearin others with problems simlar and greater than mine always brings me back. misery lives company, I guess.
This is the end of the thread.
