Anyone know?, I would guess Dopamine and GABA are important. Raising those two seems to help the most with me. What about others out there?

Which meds will affect only these two neurotransmitters, dopamine and GABA? I have chronic general anxiety, and the serotinergic drugs don't seem to be the key. I take a benzo which I believe increases GABA, and it gives me great success.
Since these drugs increase GABA activity, is that why they're considered addictive? Then why isn't a drug like gapapentin, which I believe affects GABA, considered to be addictive?

I agree. I thing that serotonine is also important and this is why antidepressants have SOME potential in the treatment of social anxiety.
Benzos are the way to go for the GABA part, but how do you raise your dopamine, btw? I know that there are many ways and i would like to know which are the best.

I am not exactly sure myself, I have been taking some low dose Selegiline (5mg) on and off for a couple of weeks to try to raise dopamine. But I am interested in what I read in a post I saw today that was talking about the effects of Hydergine. i am definitely going to be investigating that as a possible replacement for the selegiline...
