Posted by your#1fan on October 29, 2007, at 20:19:43

I am currelnly on Prozac and xanax, and a couple of other medications.

They have worked pretty much for me exept zyprexa.

But if i saw a completely diffrent doctor would he change them? i mean im fine on what im on right now.

If you are fine on what you are on now, he/she probably wouldn't change. Unless he/she doesn't believe in benzos ... he/she might take you off that.

Why do you want to change doctors?

You're always entitled to a second opinion but if what is working is fine rapid medication changes may just make things worse.

Every doctor has their personal bias, varying low or high ego, varying open mindedness, and varying susceptibility to the influence they are under from pharamceutical reps that visit their offices all the time. Or maye he/she receives under the table benefits for prescribing certain drugs versus others. My GP office has Cymbalta pens, pads of paper, signs, posters and stuff all over the office. Is it no wonder they always go for Cymbalta as their first choice? Makes you wonder what they get out it.

I would think if you are doing fine a doctor would not want to change anything simply because it makes his records look good. But maybe he/she doesn't like patients on benzos and will take you off. Or maybe he/she thinks that since you are fine maybe you can now reduce dosage or stop one drug at a time.

If you are doing fine, why would you want to see a doctor...any doctor...anyway, other than to get a 3 month prescription renewed?
