I am in hell from this "non-narcotic" stimulant.
Have taken it on and off for 5 yrs.It overstimulates my brain and I originally needed it to help with fatigue.
It gives me depression when I lower dose or stop taking it altogether.
Darn crap should be a Schedule 2....I went off Adderall and D=amph with less problems. Those meds at least let u sleep when u withdraw.
Provigil doesn't do that....And I need to take Xanax/Klonopin for days afterward when I stop Provigil.
Thanks, florence

I doubt any drug can get it out faster, but Bupropion or Selegiline can ease the withdrawal from long term stimulant use. Having been on dex and adderall for multi-year stretches at various times, I've found both of these other medications to be very useful for cushioning the withdrawal. Interestingly enough, I've used Provigil for the same purpose. For the record, although it's extremely useful for occasional use, I'm opposed to chronic (daily) Provigil use, there is something that just isn't quite right about it. I suspect some reason that this is a bad idea will eventually come to the surface, once it's been in use long enough.

Just googled providgil and was very surprised to see that it's a substitute in many cases for ADD meds and really only for narcolepsy. So how come so many people are using it? Phillipa

In an attempt to counter fatigue I suspect. That was my reason.

Thanks-- what made u opposed to its daily use? It was so new when I tried it. Only told it was non-narcotic stimulant...not controlled schedule II.
