Is there another mood stabilizer that I can try that will be comparable to Lamictal?

Lamictal is a good mood stabalizer didn't notice cognitive effects on it but didn't get to 200mg. What about trileptal? Phillipa

Are you missing chunks of time or just have general memory problems ?
The anticonvulsives are well known as a class for making some dumber that a box of rocks; Lamictal is the least likely to cause this. Neurontin and Keppra also tend to have lower side effect profiles than the rest of the anticonvulsives. It is also hard to predict how one will react to these meds so I think you just need to try some mood stabilizers till you find one that you tolerate.

i have some memory issues as well.. >_< but for me its a risk/benefit ratio. ill take this anyday over suicidal hypomania. and i just wont accept the tons of weight gain from other mood stabilizers.
