Hi guys, I've been lurking for awhile as I've been conducting research, and I just needed to express how neat (did I just use the word neat? I'm Gen-X, for god's sake!) I think this board is. Quite often I think I mentally relegate myself to the island of misfit toys and think that I'm such a F*ing misfit. Not to denigrate the fine persons on this forum, but it is so nice to stumble upon the reassurance that I'm not so aberrant after all. There are others who share my affliction. I don't know if any of you ever have this experience - but I really can't tell you how meaningful it is to be able to find empathy, even if it is electronic in form. I'm a severe unipolar depressive with co-morbid GAD. I am without health insurance and I lost health insurance, at which point I was priced out of the AD I was on (wellbutrin). Needless to say, my life fell apart. I am currently attempting to pull my life back together. I am on day 3 of tianeptine. I have experienced effects but I'm going to wait a few days to post effects. I just wanted to say hey to everyone. It means a lot to have a community like this to share with; I hope that I can give back half what I've gotten from y'all. Best! I wish you all the best!!!!

I'd just like to say that if Wellbutrin was helping you, it's possible that you'd qualify for the pharmaceutical company's compassion program. Try http://www.needymeds.com/ -- you'll need a doctor to work with you, since you fill out financial information, and then they fill our the medical side -- and since the meds are actually sent to the doctor's office, rather than to you.

Same here...it's horrible when you think you're alone, and then you find a whole bunch of people that feel the same way you feel and can actually offer better advice and support than just "keep your chin up"...or my all time fav (which made me cry since i was going through a very rough depressive episode).."buck up! what's wrong with you?!"

Yes, this board is by far the best board on the internet for people with depression, anxiety, Schitzophrenia, OCD etc.
When I have been at my wits end this place is the only place I've been able to come to and not feel so alone.
It's a shame though that when I've mentioned it in the past to the So called export they sort of scoff. My mum hates me coming on here as I think she sort of thinks it feeds my demons, maybe it does but then I do find it nice to be able to go to a place where other people really appreciate how you feel. Where you can read somebody elses message and it can hit so many chords that you just know you are not "seeing ghosts" after all.
Also, there are so many informed people on this board who do know what you are talking about and know more than the "so called experts do"
