The benefit of this drug has been only noticed is increased alterness.
Now the other effects off it has been pretty pethetic. Agitation, depression, suicidal THOUGHTS, being in a state of nuerosis through out the day, alprazolam has not been effective in even calming me down.
What im going to discuss is the mixture maybe with the Prozac 40mg im taking with it in combination. I dont know if this has caused this horrid side effects, but being in a zombie like mood, being in a bad mood while in turn you are alert, its keeps you alert but your in such a bad mood. Now im not saying this for everyone.
But this is a complaint against this drug. Eli Lilly placed it on the market because it succeeded in some studies, but it failed as an antidepressant, through studies with evidence. And then your told it has also antidepressant properties.
This makes me very angry that this drug did not work, because i was told it was going to work by the doctor after i cannot go back on stimulants for the time being, and to add on it is actually worse than stimulants, and all this nuerosis, and anxiety it has plauged me during the day and im being direct forward, no saracasim.
APA needs to know about this, and that it is not effective as stimulants, and for me in my case im not going to be make a big deal about it. But it has had bad effects on mood, depression, and wont even let me sleep.
If eli lilly just put this drug on the market for promotion and money, off older drugs that work better. I have talked with teachers before in the past saying in quote "whats the new drug thats on the market, strattra? its not working for many of students"
Now i know that Dexedrine, Adderall have also been warned because of abuse since they are amphetamines. But for me they worked very well.
Im going to stay on this medication even with suicidal thoughts, dulled emotion, to see if it works. Because its the only last option at this time.
But APA needs to know that its not an effective drug as stimulants. And doctor need to know that also.
Dr-bob please just bring this up at the APA meeting because i am feeling awful on this medication.

I feel you man. I found strattera to be no good at all. Depression, agitation, all types of problems with sleep and sexual function. One month was all I could handle. Looking into the old babble vaults here, it seems that probably only 1 in 7 have found any benefits from this drug (there's no empirical basis to that stat though - just an impression).

Stattera is not a bad drug, but it can be pathetic at side effects. I mean bad.
I already basically said what it does in my main posts, i admit im on it right now and im i bit irrtible right now, but i do notice that it has increased the lenth of my posts and frequency of posts, and not "irrelevent posts".
But the whole day dealing with all this, is just, i wished just one day i just wont take it and i'll be fine. I'll be my old self and not this person in a bad mood. Plus taking it with Prozac which effects norepheniphrine, the attention chem.
So there both working to increase norephenrine which can lead to an over load in the nuerosynsapse. Like im experiencing.
Plus with agitation i feel i have to get things done, and its so stressful. Dexedrine which is an amphetamine that im refering to increases motivation and the attidute to doing work, not having a stess breakdown doing it because signficant over load of norepheniphrine, and there is no dopamine with Atomoxetine (Strattera)
But already amphetamines, or Ritlin have a note to doctors for abuse, and i dont blame, because of the years its been known, since the late 60's?
I heard someone here talk about abilify for ADHD? i dont get it i will have to go look it up. Its an antipsychosis and moodstabilizer med as far as i know.
But for now im going to take the discutsing med tommorow, because i need to see how long and maybe it does have an ok side too it, and its just needs time.
But so far for a week and 2days i've been in a wreck.
We'll just hope for the best. But the American Psychiatric Assosication needs to know about this. And the about the side effects such as depression, and dyphoria, and it can, and with me it has caused irrtiblity it causes.
Thats just my say. Im irrtible right now but i have realized that alertness has increased. But vice versa with side effects.......
