I have been on 60mg of Parnate for at least a year (maybe two, who can remember?) and am in the process of tapering off to nothing (it's served me better than any other drug ever has, but it's time to say goodbye and try going drug free - plus therapy, diet, exercise, supplements and other steps I have already started taking to fight the depression).
OK, back to the Parnate. I moved down to 50mg/day from 60mg/day starting yesterday. I would love any advice you can give on how to proceed from here with the tapering down. I don't want to rush things as I know Parnate withdrawal can be horrible.
Thank you so much for your advice!

But i would not rush, allow yourself to backstep, parnate withdrawal while still depressed is very very hard.
Expect it to be a slow process, and just start your other methods, excersise etc,as you begin to taper, and dont beat urself up over getting of it so fast.

I always went off Parnate cold turkey except for the first time I went off of it. Of course, I always went on a new AD after the washout. As soon as I started tapering the first time, I started feeling depressed, so I just stopped. I never felt any withdrawal symptoms that I remember. In your case, however, tapering may be a good idea. If you begin to feel depressed on the way, it may be sign that you should stay on it.
