Here's some information about etizolam (Depas). It is a benzodiazepine used in Japan, but apparently according to this drug information sheet it might help depression related to anxiety.

Probably your doctor thought your depression was caused or worsened by insomnia.
I hope you get better soon. Please keep us updated. :-)

Hallcion is a scary med. In 1993 when I husband was taking it, there were many other people in our area taking it for sleep and depression. The (bad) joke going around is that it will kill you (suicide) and your neighbor too. Several people went off the deep end and randomly started killing people when they were on Hallcion.
Good luck with it.

Triazolam (Halcion) is more likely to cause anterograde amnesia than other benzodiazepines and I have heard about the horror stories associated with it, but those are very rare and isolated cases. The FDA would have removed it from the market if it was a hazard to human health. Halcion has never been proven to cause violence.
That said, it should be prescribed with caution and information about these rare side effects explained well to the patient. The manufacturer designed a new dosage formulation shortly after the high profile cases hit the news, so now there is a 0.125mg tablet in addition to the 0.25mg and 0.5mg tablets.
For most people it is a very safe medication.

William Styron ("Darkness Visible") seems to have had a bad reaction to Halcion.
It's a very short acting drug, is it not?
Perhaps that is part of the problem?>but let me very weird, some times fell my heart to fast and seems like Ill die. Should I tell that to the doctor?
That sounds very serious to me, and of course you should tell your doctor.
I'm guessing you feel this the next day?
Halcion is probably OK, so long as the dose is quite small.
At least that's how it was with me.
