HiI took upto 30mg of Remeron in the past. But sedation made me stop that stuff. I came to know sedation is not a problem at 45mg or higher. I want to try.
Is it okay to start with 45mg? I tolerate medicines well, have started prozac at 40mg with no ill effects.
One more question: I responded badly to reboxetine. It turuned me into an emotionless zombie. Would the effects of Remeron at 45mgs mimic to that of Reboxetine at 8mg?
Thanks in advance

I found Remeron very sedating in the beginning, but when the dose was raised to 45 mgs (or more, I am not quite sure), it suddenly became very energizing. It made me very assertive and somewhat agressive, very different from my usual personality.
Reboxetine, on the other hand, made me feel very awake, but in a relaxed and calm way. Very nice after many years of sleepwalking. For a week or two it made me feel almost euforic. Therefore I am a little surprised that it turned you into a zombie. Could it be because I only take 4 mgs? 8 mgs gave me to many sideeffects.
I hope this helps you.
best regards

I'd recommend talking to your doctor about an appropriate titration schedule.
That said, I've read that there are doctors who believe that starting patients too low on Remeron, and titrating too slowly, actually causes more problems. And I've read that other doctors believe that starting low and going slow avoids most of the problems. There's some disagreement, in other words ;-) It's worth discussing with your doctor whether you're better off going one way or the other, and why he/she recommends it.
Good luck.
