After 11 years of intense anxiety and suicidal thoughts, I am finally getting noticeable relief from 30 mg Remeron. I have always felt that my mental disturbance was something more severe than a simple anxiety disorder. Benzos, for example, have never been more than a superficial, band-aid solution. After reading forever on the internet it sounds like I have something co-morbid, like BPD along with panic, phobia and GAD. In any case, one doesn't realize how sick one really is until the storm in the brain starts to subside. What a difference when the cloud starts to lift! Unfortunately, the Remeron has not done much to improve my insomnia, so I am now having to take clonazepam to get the sleep I need. The dry mouth and severe constipation are also a pain. Now that I know there is an underlying depression (or something), I am wondering if there might be an AD that will allow me to sleep and not cause such severe constipation. In the past, I have been on therapeutic doses of Doxepin, Zoloft and Effexor. All of these trials were disasterous. My panic on the Effexor got so bad I actually summoned an ambulance. I have never tried Paxil, but am really afraid my anxiety will worsen and make me suicidal again. I know the sexual side effects of Paxil are also significant. Nevertheless, I am willing to accept certain "negatives" in return for inner calm. Does anyone have any thoughts about this matter? Thanks for your help.

A lot of people seem to like lexapro with klonopin. Me I take luvox and valium. I find I don't seem to have side effects to the luvox but I'm still at a low dose loomg and have to go to 200 in the next month. Love Phillipa ps I have heard that remeron at low doses is good for sleep.

I would stick with the remeron Guy...maybe the side effects will fade in time. Remeron is a great AD, and the bottom line is that it is working for you. Good luck.
