I promised a log of how I felt after getting off of Lexapro and started (generic) Celexa. My first Celexa was this morning. I am pretty sure it will take a few days for things to change, but just wanted to let everyone know the deed is done. If you are interested in asking any specific/pertinent questions, I will try to answer them the best I can.

So far, do you like it better or worse than Lexapro?

Why did you switch?
Personally, I tried both and Celexa was way better.
In fact, when Celexa was working wonders, my psychiatrist switched me to Lexapro, claiming it was a "better version" of Celexa. Well, Lexapro not only didn't work, but it caused Celexa to never work again. Terrible.
Good luck with Celexa.

This is the 3rd day of Celexa (generic). There has been no obvious differences in the way I feel. Lexapro made me quite tired/sleepy, also. I struggle with that all the time. It is easy to take several naps a day if I am not careful.
I changed to Celexa (generic) because of our insurance company. Co-pay for Lex was $40 and Cel has no copay at all. I still have a full month of Lex if anything goes wrong. It will be easy to change back again.
Sorry about not posting yesterday. Besides having company all day, there was not much new to report. I am sure there are minor changes that I am not feeling. But I will continue to report and answer CANDIDLY any questions you might have. If for some reason you want private answers, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at dianne@scrubcaps4u.com

Wednesday May 2. There has been absolutely no difference between Lexapro and Celexa that I can tell. I am absolutely sure that all the Lex is out of my system now and that Celexa (generic) has gotten a foothold. I am pleased that there have been no effects from the change. Also there has been one good thing. The drowsyness from the Lexapro seems to have gone away.
I am in heaven and awake to enjoy it.
This is the end of the thread.
