I JUST STARTED LYRICA THIS WEEK FOR CHRONIC PAIN.
I HAVE BEEN TAKING SOME STOUT NARCOTICS FOR THE PAST NINE YEARS: OXYCONTIN 120MG DAILY + LORTAB 10 EVERY 4 HOURS ROUTINELY + XANAX .5 FOUR TIMES DAILY ROUTINELY. I CHANGED DOCS (NOT MY IDEA!} AND NOW I AM TAKING LYRICA 75MG THREE TIMES A DAY WITH ULTRAM 100MG EVERY 6 HOURS + XANAX .5MG THREE TIMES A DAY (INSTEAD OF FOUR). I CAN'T TELL I'M TAKING ANYTHING. WHEN WILL IT KICK IN OR HOW MUCH DO I NEED? HELP!!

ultram is almost useless... i know that for sure and ive been on oxycodone, hydromorphone, fentanyl, ultram, demerol, vicodin... as far as pain relief 100mg of ultram is about the same as 5mg of oxycodone... and that being very generous to the ultram... also ive read about increaced risk of seizures with ultram vs. most other opioids... i prefer dilaudid as it seems the most effective pain reliever and also has the least side effects of any ive taken...
i have a feeling this new doc is a scedule 2 phobe... tell the doc what youve been using that works and dont be afraid to tell him flat out if something just isnt working...
