Hi,
I take 2500 mg of depakote, divalproex acid, for bipolar...I just got my blood levels done and it seems im right at the top end of the therapeutic levels, actually above it somewhat...
I have ringing in my ears, not horrendous, but constant, could this result from the high dose depakote?
thanx for any replies,
bps

My tinnitus was exacerbated by poor sleep. The first time I discontinued Depakote the ringing in the ears went away gradually in about 3-4 weeks. Unfortunately, I had to go back on Depakote, but recently (3 weeks ago) again dropped it from my drug cocktail. Tinnitus is still present and especially so when I don't get enough good quality sleep. Hope this helps.
