For some time now it has been increasingly difficult to get myself out of the house in the morning, or interact with people even after leaving the house. Something happens and i just tighten up and everything seems to just shutdown in me. This makes moving forward in life very difficult for me. It has been suggested that i might be experiencing social anxiety. I no longer get anxiety attacks because im taking risperdal and lamictal but i still seem to get the other symptoms. Anxiety without the anxiety. I am a recovering addict who no longer has the luxury of taking any addictive narcotics and was hoping that someone who has had similiar experiences might suggest some medication to me that has been effective for them.

I think what type of addiction makes a difference as there are meds for alcholism and narcotic addiction that would help with anxiety. And the support groups? Love Phillipa

I have been in a roughly similar situation to you.
Tianeptine has been good for me. It is mildly prosocial. Not everyone has success with it though.

Common but not limited to meds for this are..
Maois....Parnate...more so possably Nardil.Combine with a benzo, not sure if this is allowed with ur current situation, but klonopin or xanax.
Thats a common foundation,to which people build on according to individual needs,i.e possably nuerontion, lyrcia, lamictal etc.
Declan as he mentioned has had some success with the drug excuse the spelling tiantaptine?

The supposed best course of action for fighting SAD, which I'm currently in the middle of, is Nardil combined with Klonopin, along with Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

A very small dose of Abilify (1mg) has helped me with social anxiety. The drug is very expensive though in the US.
