I responded to 60 mg of Seroxat within a week after two years of trial and error and basically hell.
Now I've been on this lexapro 10mg for six weeks wtih no real results infact this morning I felt in total distress and it would have lasted throughout the day had I not taken a Klonopin. My psychiatrist now wants me to stay on 10mg for yet another six weeks, telling me that it can take some time but this has not been my experience and I can't understand why I'm still feeling wretched.
If I'm going to get side effects anyway (which I do anyway regardless of the dose) then I'd rather start at the highest dose possible (as this is what worked for me back in 2003.
I just keep thinking I've got another six weeks with poor results and awful side effects. I don't mind about the physical ones it's the total apathy, nausea, listlessness and agitation I can't stand.

That just doesn't make sense to me. 6 weeks is a long time, and if 10 MG hasn't helped you by now, it never will. I don't understand why you're doc didn't bump you up to 20MG, especially since Lexapro is a non-abusable and non-addictive drug.
Maybe go against your docs orders and try 20 MG?
