I'm sure my doctor is shaking his head at the message I left for him this morning. But...
After being sick to my stomach and hungry at the same time on Depakot ER, I stopped it. I also stopped the Emsam patch. It was making me manic.
So, I took my baby dose, 2mg. of Abilify last night and got some good sleep.
I don't miss the mania from Emsam, but I do miss the concentration and focus I got from it. I was a much better worker when I was on it. I just can't be crazy manic.
Maybe in time I can add Wellbutrin to Abilify?

I think he should try them. From what I can tell he drinks a lot of Monster caffine drinks and is in pretty good shape, so he has no clue what it is like to deal with weight issues - let alone take a med that gives you the munchies!

The point isn't to be "a good patient"--the point of going to a shrink is to get better. If something isn't helping you get better and you stop using it, that to me is a sign of good health; it means you're firm enough in your commitment to your own well-being that you take steps to get better. If your doc can't deal with that, you should find another one.
