I'm happy to transfer my care to this new guy. No changes in medication at the moment - thank goodness, I have had enough for now - and he was sensible and a bit of a goof. (Good combination, for me.)
So, I'm staying with 60mg Cymbalta, 333mg Campral, .5mg xanax prn, 10mg Ambien prn.
No mood stabilizers for now.We spoke for a while regarding xanax versus alcohol. He's happy to have me take this low dose to deal with anxiety; and he said he'd rather have a patient dependent upon benzos than booze, due to the myriad ill effects alcohol addiction has on the entire body.
He was also not insistent upon using AA as a support system, as my previous pdoc was. Instead, he acknowledged that it's not the best place for everyone. What a relief to find a doctor, finally, who didn't leave me in tears.

That sounds great. I'm glad you've found someone you feel good about. He sounds sensible, and of course I love goofy.

That's wonderful Scratchpad. Not making patients cry is definitely something that should be expected from doctors. So is an open mind.
