gaba-b agonism and nmda antagonism alike?

Posted by iforgotmypassword on February 12, 2007, at 6:41:42

both anti-glutamatergic? anti-excitotoxic?

yknow... in the direct effect sense, not just the floating brain substance? its actual relevant receptors? like how ketamine low dose is a nirvana somewhere yet we haven't heard much due to uhh, legality or umm laziness? or the retirement of jay a. goldstein? or perhaps writing off ketamine over how low low-dose ketamine should go? no it should not be anaesthetic, neither should it be visine. bla bla bla.

anyway...

uhh.

this is important. yeah yeah i know. this is the best that's coming out right now. i don't rewrite when i don't know how to get things wrote in the first place. i just thank the precious lord when it happens.

taking memantine right now.

this is general route i am considering

fight glutamate, nmda activity, stregthen response to dopamine to where it is supposed to be to reinforce feeling, and action; fight head cement, fight task death, the grinding of metal in black and white (read: gray and gray)

i also would like to hear from acetylcholine on a few things. being my hoarding, indecision, apathy... ohhhh wait its all the same again. i said things better on aricept. i could combine. maybe worth a shot (in the head.)

You wont get a strengthened response to dopamine or a stregnthened hpa axis, it jus doesn't bind as tightly as ket.

Although you will get the reduction in glutamate and should, like i did, get a good anti-anxiety effect, which i believe can improve depressive sympttoms as a result.

Your reference to GABA-B caught my eye.

What about GABA-B ANtagonism?

Saegis/Novartis apparently is in Phase II trials of such a drug, currently called SGS-742, for ADHD.

I can't find *any* other information on it (I have even called them to no avail). Might anyone have *any* info regarding this?
