Okay here goes...my appt with my doc yesterday went well. She added Abilify to my Lamictal. Let's see if this works. Has anyone had personal experience with this combo? If so, feel free to enlighten me.

Sorry no a mood stabalizer and an antipsychotic that's supposed to be stimulating. What is your diagnosis? Love Phillipa

Oh my gosh I thought I was the only one on that combo! At first I couldnt tell what side effects were from which med..the Abilify or the Lamictal. You may experience some nausea and daytime drowsiness. I also experienced a feeling of restlessness. But these effects subsided and I noticed positive results..brighter outlook and motivation to be social and get things done. Well good luck!

My diagnosis is bipolar with underlying depression and ADD. It's a nightmare since I started the Abilify with the Lamictal. I can't get or stay asleep. Have chills as if I'm coming down with the flu and shakes as if I have Alheimers.I don't know whether it's the dexox of the Effexor or Lamictal and Abilify a bad combo.

i do know the withdrawl from effexor is pretty harsh, well for me it was. so i think its a combo of the new meds and the withdrawl of the effexor..took me about a couple of weeks at the most..but i totally understand your side effects and went through the same thing..I was coming off effexor as i started Abilify and Lamictal just like you ..try taking some Benadryl, it helped me get through it. Good luck..let me know if you have any more questions . :) em

Thank you so much for the information. What dose of the Abilify are you taking? Did you take the Benedryl in the daytime or just at night? I've started a new med for sleep. It's called Restoril and Temazapam for generic.

I take 5mg of abilify..I took small dose of benedryl durring the day if the side effects were really bad durring the day..but may make you sleepy..so sometimes I took a full dose of benedryl at night and it helped for the next day!
