Needle in a Haystack

Happy New Year to all. I'm sorry about the
suicide anonymity of Pseudoname but I
think i understand that Dr. Bob may be
under constraints.

Something interesting happened to me that
reminds me of Dr. Torrey's toxoplasmic
theory. I wonder if anyone is interested
to hear it or see if anything can be
made from it.

Thank you for the kind welcome.

My beloved cat, which we had for about 16 years passed
away over the New Year.

What happened that may be of interest here is that after her absence, I stopped a 7-yr. bout of daily sneezing and severe gastroenterological stuff - the "d" word. It may have been an allergy to dander. But my dr. was ready to take me off the lithium, supposing that was the cause of the "d".

Question: how could that happen, and is it possible that Dr. Torrey and others are onto something if allergies also affect the CNS?

Of course it may not be related at all but I thought someone may have a lead on this subject.

Squiggles does that mean that I will have Alzheimer's ? As I had chronic lymes's disease for years before treatment and that's when the depression came along with an elevated ANA which I still have with the hasimotos thyroiditis autoimmume which has recently gone from hypro to hyper the the lower the endo make the synthroid the worse I feel? So there is no hope for me getting better? I that's so then what is the point? Love Phillipa

How does that follow?

As I had chronic lymes's disease for years before treatment and that's when the depression came along with an elevated ANA

Is there no treatment for lyme's disease?

What is "ANA"?

which I still have with the hasimotos thyroiditis autoimmume which has recently gone from hypro to hyper the the lower the endo make the synthroid the worse I feel? So there is no hope for me getting better? I that's so then what is the point?

I don't see how this leads to your pessimistic
conclusion. I was suggesting that allergies or
parasitic diseases may lead to gastro problems,
as well as CNS problems. I was looking forward
to feedback from anyone who knows about proteins
or enzymes etc. that may be causal in these
conditions.

Sorry if i scared you; i didn't mean to, nor
do i see any reason to be scared as psychiatric
drugs seem to work on varied causes.

IgE antigens:

I think this is a clue. Unfortunately,
I don't know enough biochemistry to
see the exact link between lithium-induced
IgE production and allergenics in the
environment.

But on PubMed, I noticed that the alternative
drug for me which would have been Valproate
(i've had to fight for my lithium:-)) would
have resulted in the same overproduction of
IgE.
