First of all has anyone experienced increased blood sugar while on abilify? I'm excanging zyprexa for abilify. I started 5 mg zyprexa down from 10. And started 4 mg a day abilify.
So far I'm impressed, no bad side-effects from abilify, unlike the last few times.

I never had a problem, but my pharmacist told me at the time that there have been cases of blood sugar spikes, so if you are diabetic or inclined to diabetes...you may want to take that under consideration.

I'm trying different times. One method I liked was half in the morning and half at supper. I did that for 5 days with good results. Today I'm trying it all in the morning like doc suggested. I'm not sure it realy makes a difference because of the 3 day half life.
And blood sugar. Its the same as it was on zyprexa full dose. Now I'm on zyprexa half dose and tried skiping a day and every time it was the same. Currently I'm taking 2x2mg a day abilify. Should I try going off both of them and see what happens to blood sugar?
I read an article in the paper that says there is no evedence that zyprexa on its own raises blood sugar. I'm not sure but think I belive it.
The abilify is going great at this dose. Nothing like the last few times I tried it.

I've decided that 2 x a day is best. Less head ack and less persperation, less eadgy. I'm just noticing this about the full morning dose. I almost had no side-effects at twice a day. Also think I will stay at the small dose, probably half a 5mg twice a day. Doc gave me 2mg and 5mg pills. Don't think I could handle 5 mg twice.

Abilify does not apear to be raising my blood sugar. Infact my bood sugar apears normal now that I decreased the zyprexa.
