I don't really see the problem. Why don't start at 15mg and then raise. I've once started at 30mg at I slept for 15h. Good luck aynway.

Yes, the pdoc prescribed 30mg the first time I tried Remeron. It made me feel very heavy and tired. I slept a lot as you might imagine. The pdoc said it was more stimulating towards higher doses and I would suffer less sedation overall if I started at 30mg and endured the first few days of severe drowsiness. Didn't work out in practice though.

I started at 30 mg and slept a lot for a nearly a week. This side effect went away, and now I just get drowsy after I take it. Didn't do much for my depression and anxiety, however.

Yes.

A common opinion among psychiatrists seems to be that Remeron causes more sedation at lower doses, but I think that most of them mistake what 'lower doses' means. For me, 30mg was a -highly- sedating dose, moreso than 15mg, and when I tried to start on it at one point, it blew me away. When I tried it at 15mg and later moved up, it was more manageable. So beware, the side-effects can be difficult the first week or so on 30mg, and difficult to tolerate. You might end up getting disgusted with it without giving your body a chance to get used to it.

Best of luck!

Thanks for all your responses--much appreciated! (nm)
