For 1998 to March of 2006 I was taking paxil, but the sexual side effects and it loss of efficacy with the years in depression, make me take the chose of change the antidepressant, I tried Nardil and Effexor XR without success, and even a two months back to paxil, but it failed.
So the 18 of October I went to another psych and he put me on Anafranil, The firs week I took 30mg per day, the next, I raised to 75mg per day, and 3 or 4 days later I raised it to 100mg, and since then tomorrow I will have been taken Anafranil for 8 weeks, and in a week I have to go to see my psych.
I take too 6mg of Xanax xr per day, 2 pills of sulpiride 50mg, and for sleep 50mg of trazodone a 2 pills of clometiazol.
I am better of the anxiety, ocd, insomnia, but I am not as well of depression like I was in March of this year, so do you advice me to up the dosage of Anafranil to 150mg, or even to 200mg?
Regards. lukeds.

Glad your OCD is better. That's a high dose of xanax. So I'd imagine your anxiety would be better too. As for the depression an add on drug like lamictal maybe? Love Phillipa

Do you remember my post one month and a half ago about xanax xr?
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20061020/msgs/697995.html
I was taking 12mg per day, and I still had anxiety. Now I take 6mg per day and I have a bit of anxiety, but very few. And with the pass of time I will reduce the Xanax xr even more if the Anafranil makes more effect.
About the lamictal I will ask my psych the next week. If it boosts the SSRIs, may be it boosts the TCAs too, I don't know.

Sorry, this OT, I would like to know why you are taking sulpride, is it for depression? How is it working? Side effects?
Thanks,
Mattias

> MattiasIt is for irritable bowel syndrome, I take it since 2003. It works well for this syndrome, and about the side effects I think it makes a little worst my depression, but if I don't take it, the irritable bowel syndrome emerges, and it is very painful.

Hi lukeds,
clomipramine is indeed an effective antidepressant, I've been on it, tough side effects though, but if you tolerate them you should raise the dosage, no doubt. I know about a girl who took 275mg ocf clomipramine for OCD, that was under close supervision, but anyway, don't give up at 100mg.
